Assam Tea from Ban Lor Cho – When tea leaves are not merely a commodity, but lifeblood of those on the high mountains. We invite everyone to watch this special documentary that will take you behind the scenes of tea harvesting, hand-roasting, and the voices of the women in the community who stand behind this deeply fragrant tea.

The story of tea leaves… that have sustained the people on the high mountains for hundreds of years.

On the mountaintop of the village of Lo Cho, Tha Ko Subdistrict, Mae Suai District, Chiang Rai Province, the lives of the people are deeply intertwined with the Assam tea trees over a long history. Every morning—before the first rays of light filter through the treetops, the housewives and women of the community head to the tea gardens.

Their hands gently pluck just one tender bud, two leaves.
The finest part… which becomes the livelihood that sustains families.
It is the food for their children, the education fund for the hill tribe children, for generation after generation.

The tea leaves you are about to see do not come from a large factory.
They are the result of the hands of ordinary women who have preserved ancient wisdom.
They are picked, sorted, roasted over a wood fire, kneaded, and sun-dried.
Every step is filled with laughter, teamwork, and the hopes of the entire village.
This is Assam tea that has grown naturally.

On the forest land that has surrounded the community throughout its history,
authentic organic tea has won the world’s second place award,
is not just because of its taste…
but because of the ‘story’ hidden in each tea leaf.

Today, the Lojo community is not just harvesting tea.
They are creating a future,
producing quality products,
and opening new avenues for city dwellers to taste the stories of the mountains.
