This is the story of wisdom that ‘preserves the forest and cares for the people’. The story of the Huai Chomphu community, and the journey of herbs… from the community forest to the hands of a new generation.

Amidst the lush forests that surround a small village in Chiang Rai…
This is Huai Chomphu,
a community once nearly fifty kilometres away from the nearest hospital.
A distance so vast that medical care could not wait.
And so, the forest became the first hospital in their lives.

From the days when our ancestors relied on roots and medicinal plants,
for they had no wealth, no doctors, and no roads to travel.
Knowledge of herbs was thus passed down through generations,
through bare feet that ventured into the forest,
through the eyes of young children who watched the elders gather plants to heal ailments.

In this forest… every tree is a teacher.
Every root is medicine.
Every leaf is hope.
And herbs are not merely “options”,
but the very way of healing that has sustained the community for over 40 years.
